Salsaing the Night Away

Another day at work at the Alumni Center, but the fun began after work around 5 pm.

Shortly after I left the premises of the Alumni Center, I journeyed my way to the gym, where I changed into some nice shorts and t-shirt. I had an agenda today, to visit some friends who lived about 10 minutes from campus. I had not seen them for a while due to some unusual circumstances with someone.

They greeted me happily and I missed them dearly. One of them had their birthday yesterday, so I gave her a birthday card and a personally designed photoshop card. She was overwhelmed with joy! Having nice gifts even after her birthday has passed.

After visiting them, I set off to my next location, the gym! There awaited the rock wall, waiting for me to climb her every path and crack and handle. When I arrived, I equipped myself with my red Five-Ten shoes and a green chalk back to my side. I was ready... But at the same time, fearful of the wall. I had previously managed to injure myself, which weakened my fingers. However, a few weeks before, I purchased a small stress ball that is said to help strengthen your fingers. And indeed... they worked... I climbed to the best of my ability and safely...

Next stop... 8:30 pm... SALSA! I awaited this class all day. Earlier in the morning, I looked up Salsa techniques and moves on youtube to prepare me for the final night of Summer Salsa. We learned two different moves tonight, one where the girls had to go under the guy's legs while she laid low, and one where we were able to stay in close proximity while doing cross body leads (one where the man can turn their partner from one side and lead to the other). Not only was today the last day of Salsa lessons for summer, but there were fewer classmates today. So few, that I was almost able to dance EVERY time! Because there was almost a 1:1 ratio for males and females. :) I got to dance with people I knew. I was also complimented on my improvement by one of my female partners! One of the funniest moments tonight, was a cantonese speaking girl that I was dancing with. She was really cute and fun to get along with. At the end of class, I exchanged numbers with a few of my Salsa classmates, probably to meet up some time for Street Salsa or Salsa Clubs.

My legs are BURNING with tiredness. I am really happy I ended the night on such a high note. I really wished the night would not end... but it must... Else than that... Salsa away!!!

BTW... my stiffness in my calf is still there... DAMN CALF CRAMPS!!!!
