At UCLA, to reserve tennis courts... one must have a Tennis Reservation Number, which has an expiration date. During the beginning of summer, I acquired one of these numbers with a written expiration date of 8/30/09. Evidently, one can see that it has expired according to the written date. So, half way through work, as a break, I began to journey to the Sunset Recreation Center, where I originally got my first number.
Slowly walking out of the work place, I noticed a biker passing by far in the distance. Looking at the biker a little closely... I noticed a great resemblance to my friend... So, I started sprinting towards the biker and caught up. I called their name, and to their surprise, I had managed to keep up with the bike's speed. :) I was proud, but very tired. After chatting a little, I made my way up to the back entrance of Sunset Recreation. At that moment... I realized that my bruin ID was missing!!!
At that very moment, I started to freak out! Where could I have dropped it?! Maybe I had dropped it when I pulled out my wallet to pay for food!!! Or maybe I left it at work?!?!
Many bad pessimistic thoughts started to fill my mind. I was drenched in sweat and fear. By this time, my legs have started to hurt from the sprinting. I was extremely tired. I ended up back at work to find that my card was laying there... on top of my bag. I was relieved but tired.
Soon, I made my way up to Sunset Recreation again. The heat was overwhelming, so I took of my shirt to allow my undershirt to be my only source of protection from the Sun's violently harsh rays. I made my way back up although weakened by the previous journey. Finally, I had arrived at the front desk of the recreation center. There, I sought to get a new Tennis Reservation Number... Only to be told that the staff who wrote down 8/30/09 as the expiration date was WRONG. The number expires on 9/30/09... In the end... I made my way back down... exhausted from the long journey... aching from the treacherous terrains...
I made my way back to work safely... and returned home... Today was a fun day! :)
